Staying Aligned

It seems like it takes a lifetime to find which life path is right for us, and once we do, it takes constant focus to stay on it. It feels as though we're playing hot and cold most of the time, feeling our way through the dark, and, at times, finding ourselves on everyone else's path but our own. At my age I'm beginning to realize, we're not doing anything wrong, this is just how it is. It's all about learning as we go, and when we feel lost or find ourselves off our path every once in a while, we can always make our way back.

The key to doing this is awareness... knowing when we've gone astray and need to re-align. This isn't easy, sometimes we may feel as though we have to stay where we are because we're either too far into it, can't admit that we've made a mistake, don't want to disappoint other people, or feel it's too hard to go back and start over. However, life is meant to be lived in our own unique way, and we don't want to get to the end of our life with the regret of knowing that we never really lived the life that was made for us.

Staying aligned isn't easy, but it's worth it and the more we practice, the easier it gets. It takes becoming aware of when we're in and out of alignment, moving slowly as we test what path is right for us, making adjustments when needed, and following our intuition. If we can stay focused, we'll also soon notice that being off course doesn't feel right, it feels forced, fake, and drains our energy.

On the other hand, when we're on our right path we feel free, it feels right, and we gain energy. Not to mention that, instead of disappointing people, we end up being a light for others. People see us and want what we have because it feels so genuine. We also end up having more to give because life begins to flow naturally when we're where we're meant to be, being who we were made to be, and doing what we want to do. It's only by finding that inner voice inside that's calling us to our true purpose, and following it in the right direction that we'll find ourselves on our true path. We'll know it by the joy that it brings and the peace that follows...
